DFTLab ( Digital Technology Lab ) is responsible for all the hardware research and development from Digital Tape Recorder, DCI Compliance JPEG2000 Server, Massive Disk Storage Platform, On-line and Near Line Digital Archiving System, Multi-screen OLDA ( On Location Digital Advertising ). DFTLab also conduct research GPU and SPUR Engine in real time compression of JPEG2000 file, film restoration, conversion and transcoding, film data acquisition using CCD based film scanning technology, etc..
DCI Compliance Server
Working with funding from MDA and support from DFTLab ( ACDNetwork’s R &D center ) at NTU in Singapore and SZU ( Shenzhen University ) in China, we have come out with a DCI compliance server, that satisfy the DCI requirement for JPEG2000 and able to play all format throw at it. Using proprietary software using the latest CPU and GPU technology, we have bring out a low cost all software base DCI compliance server that play all formats in addition to JPEG2000. At a cost that is affordable, easy maintenance and offer the all DCI requirement.
ACDNetwork had been working on different solution to the above problem since 2007. The server had gone through rigorous trials in Singapore and other Asian countries. We have been testing it using all major brand projectors, from Barco to Chritsies, Panasonic, last but not least Sony 4K projector as well.
We had show major local movies using our servers in major Singapore theatre for a strict four weeks, without any incident and people think that they are watching film based entertainment.
The server had played back JPEG2000 ( DCI Stem at 2K ), to USB thumb drive containing Andy Lau concert in HD supplied by Sony at the test site without any prior knowledge.
ACDNetwork is able to bring to the market a low cost server that can server all the above needs. Using DFTLab proprietary software and our research into GPU encoding and decoding we are demonstrating a system specially designed from ground up to handle all the DCI distribution and packaging compliance, to solve the capturing issues, the archiving requirement (on-line and off-line), and the repurposing for distribution issues.
Using the latest CPU and GPU technology, with DFTLab research development effort, we are able to bring out a low cost, highly efficient and easy to operate and maintain system.
DFTLab encoder and repurposing server is designed to capture lossless content into the server, converting it to JPEG2000 visual lossless format for storage while the system is capturing the data to a pair of encrypted removable off-line storage devices for achieving purpose. At the same time, generate a low res files (FLV) for web browsing and an H.264 repurposing files for repurposing and distribution. All these are done in real time while the capturing is happening. This is the first in the world product at the show.
